Ran Reads: I think you’re sauceome!

So the deal is, I read a LOT of comics. I prefer to read long-form comics with awesome continuous stories, but every once in a while I stumble upon these little gems that, regardless of what format they are, they catch my attention and I can’t recommend them to people enough.

Aside from that, I’m a very ranty person. I’ve got several articles in the works that will probably make me look like an overly opinionated know-it-all, in fact. I feel like recommending everyone to some awesome reads might counter balance my ranting, and so, without further ado, round one of Ran Reads!

I think you’re sauceome! is both a journal comic (generally a type of comic I avoid) and a public food diary that artist/writer Sarah Becan has been keeping since March 2010.

The comic started as a means for her to record what she was eating, sort out body-image issues and keep her motivated. It has since expanded to making me jealous that I don’t live in her town (also, country); she is constantly posting deliciously drawn awesome foods from local restaurants, as well as recipes for food and drink which are a bit more accessible to people living outside of Chicago, but no less delicious.

For anyone who has ever lost a lot of weight, tried to lose a lot of weight or is currently trying to lose weight, the tone of Sarah’s comic is very relatable and light-hearted. It has been a huge inspiration on my journey to get healthy over the past year, and continues to be.

I think you’re sauceome! updates on a M/W/F schedule and always has something that makes me laugh or smile (or jealous… so… jealous…). Definitely a great addition to my RSS feed!

Missed opportunity – should have called the series “Reading Ran-bow”.
